Larry Robinson, Director of Golf/Head Professional at bridgesgolfcourse@mymts.net

“Teaching students how to have fun is our top priority. The golf skills will follow”

“We all have different physical limitations, levels of coordination and levels of development. To try and teach all golfers one swing model does not work. Golfers need to understand the fundamentals and how to balance them with their individual abilities”

Larry Robinson

PGA of Canada Class A Head Professional, Director of Golf

Larry has 40 years of experience in studying and teaching the game of golf. He has taught many thousands of golfers in our province, from the brand new golfer to the seasoned veteran. Larry’s influences stem from Ben Hogan’s teachings and were further nurtured by the late George Knudson as well as Hank Haney (who Larry had the privilege of working with on a number of occasions way back in the 80’s, before Hank became famous). These three professionals have had a very profound influence on his teaching.

Larry’s friendly manner allows the student to relax and learn, as he says “I’m just a golfer too, I have the same fears and joys that come with the game as we all have”.

Corey Brakksma

PGA of Canada Class A Executive Professional, General Manger

Corey has been involved in golf since his first swing at the age of 3. Corey turned pro in 2008, the same year he graduated with honours from the Professional Golf Management program at Lethbridge College. Corey spent five years working in the PGA of BC before returning home to Manitoba when he joined the Bridges team in 2011.

Corey’s friendly, positive attitude makes it easy for his students to feel comfortable and relaxed. His focus on the fundamentals of the golf swing, and his “back to basics” approach, allow his students to enjoy the game they love even more. Corey’s goals for the future include getting more young people into golf, and making the game more enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.

Traci Zonneveld - Class

CPGA Teaching Professional, Director of Instruction

We are excited to have Traci join the Bridges Team! Traci will take over the Golf Academy from Robin Henderson, who has taken the position of G. M. Bel Acres Golf Club. Traci has a world of experience to offer our students and has been recognized by the Canadian Professional Golfers Association for her many accomplishments

Traci is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Recreation Studies.

After working 4 years as a Municipal District Recreation Director in southern Manitoba, Traci followed her passion towards the game of golf. Initially an unassuming summer job at Morden’s Minnewasta Golf and Country Club would
turn into what is now her 27th year as a member of the PGA of Canada. Traci’s position from Assistant Professional to Head Professional at Minnewasta covered her first 15 years in her career, followed by her term as Associate
Professional at Breezy Bend and Head Professional at Poplar Ridge Golf Course ending in 2015. In the interim, Traci has been involved in assisting ladies golf clinics with Shelly Woolner, Sandra Post and Lori Kane.

Traci has been involved with competitive golf with the University of Manitoba Women's Golf Team and non-playing captain and coach with Manitoba Junior Woman’s Provincial Teams.  As an instructor, Traci has provided a range of services from private and group lessons and clinics, for junior, adult beginner to seasoned enthusiast, at The Golf Dome, Tuxedo Golf Course, and Glendale County Club.

The 2019 season will see Traci in a new role as Director of Instruction. Traci will plan and implement golf camps, clinics, and group and private lessons for all skill levels.

Traci’s teaching philosophy is not a cookie cutter approach to the golf swing. Individuals are different, therefore the approach to lessons are based on the student’s goals and encouraging a proactive role from the student in the
teaching process. Lessons are taught in an environment where learning is fun, informative, and developing a lifelong appreciation for golf.
